Lunch, Friday 10th August 2018 2pm
Located on the ground floor of Manchester Hall, the former Freemasons Hall, on Bridge Street in the heart of Manchester City Centre. A beautiful building that has been restored to its former glory with a contemporary twist.
We stumbled across this restaurant by accident walking around Manchester, we took a look at the menu options and once we were inside were pleasantly surprised by the amazing refurbishment. We were greeted by a lovely waiter, entertained by his menu description and service was timely and not rushed.
There were three vegetarian options on the starters, we chose the Courgette Flowers for starters: Courgette flowers stuffed with Welsh goat’s cheese. Chargrilled baby courgettes and a spiced strawberry chutney. £7.50. It was really tasty, the strawberry chutney was too sweet for me though.
For mains there was only one vegetarian option so it was risotto for me! It was delicious though, I do love risotto. It was Pearl Barley Risotto with green beans, peas and broad beans with fresh mint. £12.00.
Kevin chose the Panna Cotta for his main dish. Onion panna, pea puree, British beetroots and mixed seed granola £13.50. He really enjoyed it!
Overall a pleasant experience. It was a Friday afternoon and not too busy, but it hadn't been open long and they were still working on opening their rooftop terrace, we will have to go back!!
