Vata Breakfast Rice with Raisins or Fresh Fruit* 

Make it your own ... stick to guidelines below

1 cup of cooked basmati rice - only make enough for serving the same day. Ayurveda does not advocate using 'afters' on another day. But particularly with rice as it can harbor germs much more easily than other foods.

Directions

  • 1 cup of organic milk, if you wish to add fruit use Soy, Rice or Almond Milk.  *Ayurveda does not recommend combining Fruit and Dairy products together. Although this is found in many yogurts, it is seen as particularly harmful to the digestive system.
  • A handful of raisins & if you prefer other fresh fruit *
  • A handful of toasted seeds.
  • Add a sprinkling of cinnamon if liked.
  • Add a sprinkling of flaked coconut if you like.
  • Add a shake of vanilla sugar.
  • (I like to use a teaspoon of agave syrup)

Put all the ingredients into a pan and heat through slowly.

Add a teaspoon of ghee or honey, do not heat the honey, add them once the prepared rice has been transferred to the bowl.
