Keeping your hair strong and moisturized

Keeping your hair strong and moisturized

Particularly in Summer is hard. Here is how you can save your hair from being brittle and split ends.

Apply oil to your hair and gently massage for 20 minutes thrice a week. Apply a natural hair mask to leave the hair smooth and shiny.

 Avocado Hair Mask -

 Ingredients :

  • Mashed Avocado - 1
  • Olive Oil - 1 tbsp.
  • Honey - 1 tbsp.

 Method of preparation -

Mix all the ingredient together. Apply over the scalp and hair strands and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water. Repeat twice or thrice a week.

Avocado helps rejuvenate and moisturize the scalp. It is a rich source of proteins, amino acids, and vitamins. It also soothes the scalp promoting hair growth.

Olive oil reduces dandruff and lessens the itching and inflammation due to dryness of the scalp. The vitamins and nutrient content makes the hair strands thicker and healthier.

The rich antioxidants in honey prevent damage, keeping your scalp healthy. It reduces breakage and split ends and gives a shiny appearance to your hair.

Followed by a hair wash, use a wide-toothed comb for brushing your hair. Bristled brushes will frizz hair more when hot and humid. If possible, wet your comb with a cotton dipped in water before combing.

After coming back from the summer heat, apply cucumber juice over the scalp and hair and gently massage. You can even cut cucumber slices and massage with it. This will effectively moisturize and soothe the scalp and prevent frizz.

Conditioning is a process that helps you keep your hair hydrated, making it smooth. Many natural ingredients act as amazing conditioners. Below are my two favorite natural conditioners which can be used daily.

  • Coconut oil + Honey
  • Ingredients
  • Coconut oil - 1 tbsp.
  • Honey - 1 tbsp
  • Yoghurt - 2 tbsp.
  • Rose water - 1 tsp.

 Method of preparation-

Mix all the ingredients together and apply on wet shampooed hair. Leave for 5-10 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

The essential minerals and nutrients in the coconut oil nourish the scalp well. This leaves the hair soft and smooth.

 Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner

 Ingredients -

  • ACV - 2 tbsp.
  • Honey - 1 tbsp.
  • Water - 1 cup

 Method of preparation -

Mix all the ingredients together. After shampooing, pour this mixture on your hair tips, and do not rinse further. Avoid your scalp since it may cause dryness to the scalp. The acetic acid in ACV leaves your hair smoother. Most importantly do not use ACV directly on your hair, remember to dilute it with water.

Follow these simple steps at home to tackle your most annoying summer hair problems and keep your hair shiny and healthy.
